Lost Vikings In The Sun

Somehow Olaf's expedition ended up off the coast of Africa a thousand or so years before they started.  (Huh?!)  "Time...Space...", thought Olaf, as he led his men from their dragon boats, "...it matters not."  Arrayed in front of him lay an entire Carthaginian army.

It was a surprising game.  Private D. and I  both thought that the Vikings would be quickly crushed.  But no, Toughness 4 is a very big thing.  Together with WS 4, fear-causing, nifty mixed weapon options, and the ability to skirmish, these Vikings are amazing!!!  I can't wait to use them against the Romans!

Romans and Celts

Private D and I revisited our old friends, Romans and Celts, earlier tonight in a fantastic Warhammer Anicents Battle.

The Kid wanted me to include these guys.  He had just build the kit while Private D and I were setting up.

The battle was full of drama and laughter, and twists and turns.  In the end the Romans (minus their General) hold the field.

Romans want to go Roaming

Was supposed to have a Warhammer Ancients battle last night, but the Spartans never showed.

It's a good thing Romans are so patient.  It was also a good thing to see these guys again.  Hopefully an ancients battle soon.

Again in Syria, and there is no Rome!

Enjoyed a fantastic Warhammer Ancients (V.1) game with Private D.  on Saturday.   Carthage's attempt to control the Mediterranean Sea is  halted in Syria by a Spartan and Indian Alliance.

The skirmishers advance.

And Elephants charge into Elephant on Elephant action!

Maiden Guard Archers deliver one last volley before they take the charge of the Punic heavy infantry.

And then ...Sparta attacks.

Driving all before them!  Ha ha ha!  (Unfortunately, the Celts and the Spanish skirmishers make off with the Spartan and Indian Baggage.)

Great, great game with much wacky Warhammer excitements and surprises.  I look forward to much more Ancient gaming.
